Synopsis

Teacher Vet is a biweekly podcast about the history of veterinary medicine, with a comedic outlook. Teacher Vet is hosted by Dr. Amanda Vockler (small animal veterinarian) and Mr. Jacob Vockler (history teacher). Each episode Amanda and Jacob will discuss historical and hot topics in veterinary medicine. They hope you laugh and learn all at once!

    This week we take on the big report that was dropped by the FDA regarding grain free dog foods. The report hit the pet owner world and we see that it raised more questions than anything else. So we look at the history of grain free diets and try to best explain why people started feeding their pets grain free diets in the first place. Then Amanda gives her expert opinion on grain free diets and her thoughts on what you should do when deciding on a food for your dog.

This raised a lot of questions about nutrition and overall issues regarding what we should be feeding our pets. So to start the series off we hit on raw diets.
